26 . The Role of Assessment in Learning
Shankar Lal
This research explores the pivotal role of assessment in education, emphasizing its impact on the learning process. Assessment is a systematic approach to determining the extent to which educational goals are achieved by students, serving both as a tool for measuring progress and a means to enhance the learning experience. The study delineates between formative assessments, which are ongoing and aim to provide feedback for improvement during the learning process, and summative assessments, which evaluate student learning at the conclusion of an instructional unit. By examining the significance of both types of assessments, the research underscores their importance not only in informing teaching practices but also in fostering student motivation, self-regulation, and overall academic success.

29. The Effect of Pranayama on Anxiety, Depression, Stress (ADS): A Review Study
Ankit Kumar, PUSKER, Ravi Saini, Prof. (Dr.) Omnarayan Tiwari
Abstract
ADS is known all over the world as a disorder that has a negative impact on the health and well-being of any person. When children enter adolescence, their mental development occurs rapidly and the risk of diseases like depression and anxiety is highest. The prevalence of anxiety, depression or stress in India is 2.5%, 2.68% or 24%. Pranayama is an ancient method of controlling and regulating breathing, which controls the speed of our breathing. This gives us control over our heart and nervous system. Many such scientific researches have been done which prove that Pranayama positively affects mental health. We have included research papers for 2010-2024 for review. In which we have critically reviewed the effect of Pranayama on some serious diseases like Covid-19 patients and those suffering from CABG. We have included students and individuals of all age groups (10-60). I reviewed all the papers related to Pranayama to know the effect of Pranayama on school students and PG students. To review this, we used both analytical and descriptive methods. Overall, from the review in this paper, we came to know that Pranayama is a valuable tool to reduce ADS. These studies suggest that pranayama not only aids in mental health but also has beneficial effects on physical health. The study highlights various research findings that demonstrate the effectiveness of pranayama in improving mental health outcomes.

31. The Shrinking Class: Analysing The Decline In Higher Education Enrolment Ratios In Jammu And Kashmir
Dr. Mohd Mushtaq, Dr. Mohd Akram
This study examines the factors contributing to the decline in higher education enrolment in Jammu and Kashmir, focusing on the impact of faculty shortages and contractual appointments on academic quality and student motivation. The reliance on inadequate faculty structures, coupled with socio-economic challenges such as poverty and limited access to resources, particularly affects students from rural areas. Furthermore, the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, while promising, has yet to yield significant improvements in this context. The study highlights how delayed faculty recruitment and the diminished prestige associated with contractual teaching positions discourage students from pursuing higher education. It also addresses the perceived irrelevance of degrees in the face of rising unemployment, which further deters enrolment. By identifying these multifaceted barriers, the study provides actionable recommendations aimed at enhancing faculty recruitment, improving educational infrastructure, and increasing awareness of academic opportunities. Ultimately, this research serves as a foundation for developing policies that foster a more inclusive and equitable higher education system in Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring that all students can achieve their academic and career aspirations.

32. Exploring the Use of Social Media in Education: A Comparison Between Pre-service Facilitators and Educator Mentors
Prof. (Dr.) Vinod Kumar Kanvaria, Sunidhi
Abstract
With advances in science and technology, social networking sites have become an integral part of any learning environment. The research tends to analyze and compare the attitudes, motivations, and usage patterns of pre-service learning facilitators and pre-service learning facilitator-educators towards using YouTube in the classroom. Adopting a mixed method design, the research documents and examines existing YouTube usage among pre-service learning facilitators and pre-service learning facilitator-educators. Directed questionnaires were employed in gathering information from 70 respondents, who constitute a representative population. A comparison of 35 pre-service learning facilitator teachers and 35 pre-service learning facilitators was conducted. The outcome of the study found that pre-service learning facilitator teachers view YouTube more than pre-service learning facilitators. Reasons for YouTube use in learning facilitator teachers and pre-service learning facilitators are essentially the same practically. In addition to that, pre-service learning facilitator educators and facilitators had a positive attitude towards utilizing YouTube for teaching.

38. Growing Together : Cooperative Learning For Social Progress
Dr. T. Mahendran
Cooperative learning, an instructional strategy emphasizing collaboration within small groups, significantly enhances both academic and social outcomes for students. This delves into investigates the role of cooperative learning in fostering social development among school students in Tamil Nadu, India. As a pedagogical method, cooperative learning aligns with social development theories, particularly Vygotsky’s Sociocultural Theory, emphasizing guided learning and the impact of culture on cognitive growth. The research highlights various cooperative learning techniques, such as Jigsaw, Think-Pair-Share, and Peer Tutoring, categorizing them into formal, informal, and base group activities.
Results underscore that rural students perform better than their urban counterparts in cooperative learning, while urban students excel in social development. Government school students exhibit stronger cooperative learning skills, whereas aided school students show higher levels of social development. Additionally, findings suggest that cooperative learning activities significantly promote essential life skills, including communication, teamwork, and empathy, preparing students for academic and professional success. However, effective implementation of cooperative strategies necessitates teacher training and adaptation to diverse learner needs. This study concludes that cooperative learning not only enhances educational outcomes but also contributes to a more inclusive and socially responsible student community. The findings advocate for its integration into curricula to align educational practices with the demands of an interconnected world.

39. The Role of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) in Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding
Ms. Jaya Pathak
Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) embody an extensive and profound heritage of traditional wisdom, encompassing philosophy, spirituality, governance, medicine, and social practices. Over thousands of years, these systems have cultivated unique methods for conflict resolution and peacebuilding, rooted deeply in ethical and holistic worldviews. Central to IKS are the concepts of Dharma (righteousness and duty), Ahimsa (non-violence), and Sarvodaya (universal welfare), which promote harmony within individuals, communities, and the environment. Traditional mechanisms such as the Panchayat system offered decentralized, community-based dispute resolution models that prioritized dialogue, consensus, and restorative justice over adversarial approaches. Indigenous negotiation techniques, philosophical debates (Shastrartha), and strategic diplomacy, as described in texts like the Arthashastra, further illustrate the depth and sophistication of Indian approaches to managing conflict. This article explores the historical applications of these systems and highlights their enduring relevance in the modern world. As global conflicts become increasingly complex, revisiting and adapting IKS principles offers valuable insights into sustainable peacebuilding strategies that emphasize empathy, moral responsibility, and collective well-being. The integration of traditional Indian methods with contemporary practices holds significant potential to create more inclusive, ethical, and effective frameworks for conflict resolution and the promotion of enduring peace.

Abstract

41. Navigating the Moral Dilemma of Helping Friends Cheat in the Examination Hall
Yashi Goyal
Abstract
This paper explores the moral dilemma of whether one should help a friend cheat in the examination hall, a question that challenges the principles of friendship, loyalty, and academic integrity. It delves into the ethical complexities of balancing personal loyalty with moral duty, especially within the educational context where honesty and fairness are paramount by rooting in the philosophy of education. This paper examines the competing moral obligations and potential consequences of aiding a friend in academic dishonesty using ethical frameworks such as utilitarianism, deontological ethics, virtue ethics, and ethical relativism. Through the lens of philosophical theories on friendship, it is assessed whether loyalty can justify compromising integrity or if true friendship demands adherence to ethical principles. This dilemma is further contextualised within educational goals, exploring how cheating undermines individual moral development and institutional trust. Some scenarios illustrate the nuanced impacts of such choices on students’ personal growth, integrity, and academic communities. Ultimately, the paper provides a principled approach that respects academic integrity, fostering an educational environment rooted in fairness and mutual respect. Addressing these moral conflicts contributes to broader discussions on ethical behaviour, personal development, and the responsibility of academic institutions to uphold values that shape well-rounded, ethical individuals.

45. Adopting Bite-Sized Learning : Exploring Pupil Teachers’ Perspectives Through Integrating General Analysis with Elements of Roger’s Diffusion of Innovation Theory
Rachna, Dr. Devendra Singh
Abstract
Bite-Sized Learning (BSL) refers to an instructional strategy that delivers content in short, focused segments, making it easy to digest and retain. This approach aligns with the attention spans of modern learners and supports active engagement through microlearning modules. This research study investigates pupil teachers’ understanding, perceptions, and readiness regarding the integration of Bite-Sized Learning (BSL) into educational practice. The objective of the research was to explore how future teachers perceive the concept of BSL, with relation to its potential advantages and limitations. The second objective of the study is to explore their willingness to integrate bite-sized learning into their teaching practices. A structured questionnaire covering five key areas as awareness, attitude, perceived benefits, perceived challenges, and adoption behaviour was used to collect data from a sample of 270 pupil teachers. Their responses were recorded on a 5-point Likert scale, allowing for a detailed analysis of their viewpoints. Findings reveal that while the majority of participants expressed interest in the idea of BSL, a significant portion lacked a clear understanding of its practical application. Many reported limited exposure to BSL in either their academic coursework or field experiences. Still, pupil teachers presented a generally supportive attitude toward the concept. They appreciated the flexibility, conciseness, and learner-centred approach offered by short learning modules. A common perception was that BSL promotes better engagement and enhances clarity of concepts. The study also found several barriers that may block the effective adoption of BSL. Among the most frequently noticed challenges were insufficient institutional support, absence of training. There was also a perception that BSL might not be equally effective across all subject areas. However, an encouraging outcome was the willingness of pupilteachers to explore and adopt innovative teaching strategies, provided there is peer encouragement and organizational backing. Their openness to experimentation with modern pedagogical techniques highlights the potential of BSL as a valuable addition to contemporary teacher training curriculum. Although pupil teachers are still unfamiliar with the practical application of Bite-Sized Learning, they view the approach positively. With appropriate professional development initiatives and structural support from educational institutions, BSL can be effectively integrated into future classrooms. These findings suggest that Bite-Sized Learning holds promise as an adaptable, learner-friendly instructional model within teacher education programs.

47. Pedagogical Comparison Between STEM and Traditional Education: Implications for Teaching and Learning
S Sachinkumar, Prof. (Dr.) Angadi, G. R.
Abstract
This theoretical paper reviews the differences and similarities of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education in relation to conventional education in terms of their effects on learning and teaching. Interdisciplinary, student-centered design of the educational process, teacher-centeredness to achieve success through practical learning and real-life application should be characteristic features of STEM education. On the contrary, conventional learning tends to conduct lesson-based education, which is teacher-oriented; education based on memorization and administering standardized tests. In a detailed literature review using both empirical research and meta-analysis studies, this article brings out the fact that STEM education will increase student engagement and academic results. These results indicate that integrating STEM pedagogies will help students become more prepared to meet the challenges of the 21st century but other issues that hinder full implementation like training teachers and the provision of adequate resources will still have to be resolved.

50. Teacher Preparedness And Mindset For Digital Transformation , Dr. Binay Kumar
Abstract
The swift incorporation of digital tools into the classroom has shown how crucial teacher readiness and attitude are to a successful digital transformation. Teachers are required to exhibit both technical proficiency and a constructive, adaptable attitude towards change as more and more schools throughout the world implement digital resources. This study looks at the key elements that affect teacher preparedness, such as mental flexibility, digital literacy, and professional development. It emphasises how teachers’ attitudes towards technology have a big impact on how well digital implementation works in classrooms, drawing on recent studies. Navigating digital transformation requires a growth mentality, which is defined by resiliency in the face of technological obstacles and an openness to learning. The study also looks at institutional support systems that help instructors become more competent and confident when using digital tools. The results indicate that a supportive leadership structure, peer collaboration, and ongoing training are essential for improving digital readiness. Educational institutions can better prepare instructors to use technology to improve pedagogical practices by addressing the mentality and skill set dimensions. The article ends with helpful suggestions for creating a comprehensive strategy for teachers’ digital preparation, highlighting the necessity of ongoing professional development and an innovative and experimental culture.
